Love the veining on the leaves. I also love your label. Can't wait to hear about Turkey!
ReplyDeleteYour choice of colors and patterns gives the distinct impression of hot & dry. I love it! Tracing your hand for the label is a great way to personalize this piece for future generations. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteSome of my favourite colours and also very reminiscent of the Australian climate. Drought is part of our way of life- a tough life for our farmers.
ReplyDeleteHot and dry is *the* weather forecast for 2014 for the Sacramento Valley and environs…..but, we had the most glorious rain last Saturday. Just poured! Your leaves and trees are parched - wonderful choice of colors (the impossibly blue sky) and all the piecing and fabrics work great together.
ReplyDeleteI can feel the hotness and dryness in your work. This work reminds us the problem that our Earth is facing. Thank you for the work, Diane!
ReplyDeleteYour choice of fabrics and colors are perfect because the piece could represent drought any where. I also love the stitched reminder of leaves.
